Todd M. Austin
Chief Executive Officer
Todd Austin has a career spanning 20 years and is a globally recognized clinical and medical device industry expert and leader with extensive experience in product development and marketing, strategic planning, business development, P&L responsibility, and clinical consulting. In recent years Mr. Austin has provided clinical, strategic and tactical consulting services to senior management for a number of domestic and international healthcare companies, including MGC Diagnostics. Mr. Austin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Marty College and is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Neonatal-Pediatric Specialist and Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist. Mr. Austin is member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.
From 2006 to 2010 Mr. Austin was Director of Marketing for CareFusion (now Vyaire), a leading, global corporation serving the health care industry with products and services that help hospitals measurably improve safety and quality of care. Prior to CareFusion (now Vyaire) Mr. Austin served as Vice President – U.S. Sales and Marketing for ndd Medical Technologies, a Zurich, Switzerland-based company. Mr. Austin also served as Group Product Manager for Yorba Linda, California-based VIASYS Healthcare and Customer/Product Support and Applications Manager for SensorMedics Corporation. Mr. Austin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Marty College.
Matthew S. Margolies
President and COO
Matthew Margolies has a career in the healthcare industry spanning 20 years. Mr. Margolies comes to MGC Diagnostics from Cardinal Health, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the company’s Nuclear Pharmacy team. Prior to his most recent role, Mr. Margolies worked with CardioNet as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing generating substantial growth in CardioNet’s Cardiac Telemetry business. Prior to CardioNet, Mr. Margolies served for four years in a number of positions of increasing responsibility with VIASYS Healthcare, where he ultimately became Division President for the Respiratory Diagnostics group leading the company’s Worldwide Respiratory Diagnostics team. In his role with VIASYS he was responsible for the growth in the Respiratory Diagnostics space that was a component of the $1.6 billion acquisition of VIASYS by Cardinal Health (now Vyaire). From 1993-2004, Mr. Margolies held Sales and Marketing leadership roles with Covidien Health / Mallinckrodt Imaging. Mr. Margolies holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Lew Schildkraut

Lew Schildkraut is a diversified senior financial executive with over 30 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and distribution companies serving various industries including medical, automotive, printing, plastics, mining and construction. Lew has a great deal of experience in accounting, operations, human resources, information systems, purchasing, continuous improvement, strategic planning, and sales support and analysis. Lew most recently was the CEO of E.R. Wagner and prior to that, he was their CFO.

Dr. Amy Olson, MD is a pulmonologist in Denver, CO and has been practicing for 21 years. She graduated from University Of Colorado in 1999 and specializes in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
Dr. Olson’s research interests include Interstitial Lung Diseases including Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Autoimmune Lung Diseases, Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis and Bronchiolitis.
Charles Irvin, PhD. Professor of Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine. Dept. of Medicine, Vermont Lung Center, University of Vermont. Associate Chair for Research Affairs Department of Medicine Assistant Dean for Faculty for the College of Medicine.
In 2012 he was named Assistant Dean for Faculty for the College of Medicine. Dr. Irvin received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Pulmonary Physiology in 1978. He served as an a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow from 1978-1980 at McGill University in Montreal.
Dr. Irvin is a member of the European Respiratory Society and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and has served on the Board of Directors of the ATS. He is a frequent invited professor and enjoys an international reputation, and in 2014 he was named an inaugural fellow of the European Respiratory Society. Dr. Irvin has served on numerous grant review panels including NIH, American Heart Association and American Lung Association, and has been a chairman of a Lung Association grant review committee. Dr. Irvin has been continuously funded by NIH since 1976 and is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of a T32 training grant. He has trained 19 postdoctoral fellows and mentored numerous junior faculty, the vast majority now successfully engaged in research careers.
Dr. Irvin’s research interests have focused on understanding the mechanisms of airways dysfunction in the patient with asthma.
Christopher B. Cooper, BSc, MB, BS, MD, PhD, MS. Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Physiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, based in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Cooper trained at St. Thomas's Hospital Medical School, University of London and the University of Sheffield before moving to UCLA in 1987 as a Fulbright Scholar and joining the faculty there in 1990. In 2009, he was the recipient of the prestigious Sherman M Mellinkoff Faculty Award for an outstanding UCLA physician who is dedicated to the art of medicine. This is the highest faculty distinction awarded by the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has also received numerous teaching awards including, in 2009, the Award for Excellence in Education for outstanding dedication, innovation, and sustained excellence in education.
Dr. Cooper’s interests include exercise physiology and exercise testing, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, pulmonary rehabilitation and oxygen therapy. He is author of a popular book entitled “Exercise testing and interpretation: A practical approach” and has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, editorials and reviews.
Felip Burgos, PhD, MSc, RPTF, RN. Associate Professor at University of Barcelona Respiratory Diagnostic Center (Lung Function Laboratory), Respiratory Dept, Hospital Clínic, Univ. of Barcelona, IDIBAPS, Spain, European Respiratory Society (ERS) new Fellow recognition.
During the last 30 years, Felip Burgos has been involved in Lung Function
Laboratory in several topics, specially related to reference values and standardization of lung function methodology. He has been involved in the Spanish Project for Standardization of Lung Function Tests. He is also a regular member of the ERS-ATS Pulmonary Function Standards Committee. He was former Chairman of the "Respiratory measurements and technology" Scientific Group of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) of the Allied Respiratory Professionals of the ERS. He participates in more than 20 doctoral theses, he has published over 80 original manuscripts, editorials and reviews (54 Internationals & 26 National) and 28 book chapters. He has participated in numerous multi-center studies.
Dr. Burgos’ research interests involve the study of aspects of lung function, telemedicine and chronicity.
Bruce Johnson, PhD. Professor of Medicine, Physiology and BME, Consultant Cardiovascular Diseases, Preventive, Occupational and Aerospace Medicine, Director Human Integrative and Environmental Physiology Laboratory Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN and Phoenix AZ.
Dr. Johnson is the director of the Mayo Clinical Research Unit's Energy Balance Core Laboratory and directs his own research laboratory in human integrative and environmental physiology. He is also on the ERS task force for clinical use of lung diffusing capacity for nitric oxide. The majority of his research has focused on factors limiting human performance in various clinical syndromes, in athletes and under extreme environmental conditions. He has led field studies in Antarctica, funded through the National Science Foundation, and on Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, Mount Everest and Mount Kilimanjaro and studied unique populations such as breath-hold divers in Croatia and F-22 pilots from the U.S. Air Force. His clinical research focuses on novel methods for detection and tracking of chronic disease as well as environmental factors that may be involved in disease risk.
Dr. Johnson’s current research team is interested in how cardiovascular function influences breathing and how breathing may in turn influence cardiovascular function. These interactions include neurohumoral, mechanical, hemodynamic and genetic interactions.
